Peter,
What thoughts do you have as an American of Armenian ancestry and one like me without an ian on the end of our name? I try to share my heritage with my children but life makes one very American with a sprinkling of Armenian.
I remember as a kid watching your parents on What’s My Line and my grandmother always reminding us that your mom was Armenian. She would always point this out with great pride and we always would root for her to solve the game. She was always terrific.
This is not so much a comment pertaining to the previous comment, as much as it is a former student of Peter hoping to get in touch with him.
I think of you often and am forever grateful to you for your guidance and wisdom as a lawyer and as a thinker. Please consider emailing me.

Hi. I have been giving much thought to the Israel-Palestine conflict and after much thought, have come up with a 5 step plan that I believe could lead to the solution to the problem. It’s both a two-state solution AND a one-state solution. I would like my suggestion to be considered and potentially passed on to both Jewish and Palestinian peace orientated groups.

Hello, I direct this email to Mr. Gabel personally please. Sir, I am sharing gratitude to your mother through you. And I know she suffered from Alzheimer’s till her passing. If you will allow me the liberty, I have held great admiration for her for many years. She once wrote a small but profound book called, The Magic of Charm. The book contained extra-ordinary compassion and insight, from which I gained much more than I can communicate. I recall that your mother mentioned an anecdote from your boyhood in that book. It had to do with your adroit sharing with a guest at a party who arrived early: to not be concerned, that everyone else was simply late. You look to be a very accomplished and socially committed person. I am certain she would be proud. May God bless you and the spirit of your mother, wherever she may be.

As I see that someone else has used this forum to talk about your mother, I am taking the liberty of relaying a question. My friend Sam and I had looked at a video clip of your mother playing the trombone on I’ve Got A Secret, and we wondered why she was wearing a floor-length ball gown that was a big as a tent. We did not think that the gown was meant to hide a pregnancy or other medical condition, but we couldn’t think of any other explanation. And for which play did she have to play the trombone?

p.s. BTW, another friend’s dad, who was in the laundry detergent business, had a guest room in his apartment with photos of various public figures and celebrities whom he had known through his business and social activities, and one of the photos was of him with Arlene Francis. I never knew the particular circumstances behind the photo. I assume that she had interviewed him for her radio program.
